Learn When (and How) to Swap Gear

Attack, Strength, Defence – Improve accuracy, damage output, and survivability.
Ranged and Magic – Many bosses require non-melee approaches.
Prayer – Essential for overhead protection and boosting offense.
Hitpoints – More health equals a bigger margin for error.

Don't rush into bosses with underleveled stats. A bit of extra grinding—whether slaying, training at Sand Crabs, or bossing-lite activities like Barrows—can make your PvM debut smoother and far more forgiving.

5. Pick the Right World: Latency Matters

PvM in OSRS is not just about preparation—it's about reaction time. Lag and high ping can turn an otherwise manageable fight into a nightmare. Imagine trying to pray flick against Jad at the Fight Caves, only for your input to register half a second late. That's a quick trip back to Lumbridge.

To avoid this, always play on a world with low latency. You can check your ping to cheap OSRS items each server before logging in. Prioritize stability and responsiveness over population or convenience. Smooth gameplay will make prayer switching, eating, and movement significantly more reliable.
