Getting Healthcare Experience Without SNB – My Singapore Story
Starting my healthcare journey in Singapore without an SNB license wasn’t easy, but it was possible with determination. I began as a Healthcare Assistant in a private nursing home, where I supported nurses by helping patients with daily activities like feeding, mobility, and hygiene. Though the pay was modest, around S$2,000 per month, the experience was invaluable. I learned how to communicate with patients, handle medical equipment, and work within a clinical team. My supervisors recognized my dedication and encouraged me to pursue further studies. Eventually, I enrolled in a local nursing program with their support. That hands-on experience not only strengthened my skills but also prepared me for the SNB registration process. It was the first big step in my nursing career.
