Has anyone worked in IKEA's supply chain?

I work in logistics in Canada and have recently become interested in optimizing warehouse processes. I've heard a lot about cross-docking and flat packing at IKEA. I want to understand how much these methods actually speed up order processing and reduce stock shortages. Has anyone tried something similar?

As a supply chain specialist in logistics at an international company, I can say that IKEA's approach is very effective. Their shipments pass through a hub and reach the outgoing lines within 24–48 hours, which is a type of cross-docking. Pallets are grouped by SKU, and unnecessary processing steps are eliminated. By the way, have you seen the blog on the Gettransport? It contains news about IKEA supply chain news. Such methods really significantly reduce storage time. My colleagues and I have analyzed this. Together with flat packaging and digital KPI panels, the network works quickly and predictably.
