Although they are not used as structural elements, they contribute to the overall usability of dormitory beds.

Material selection is also influenced by budget constraints, safety standards, and maintenance needs. For instance, dormitory beds in high-traffic institutions may need materials that are easy to clean and resistant to vandalism or accidental damage. In contrast, dormitory beds in private schools or residential academies may prioritize aesthetics along with durability.

The materials used in the design and production of dormitory beds significantly affect their function, longevity, and suitability for specific environments.
