Contrary to misconceptions, well-made stainless steel welded chain matches the strength of carbon steel of the same diameter, though it may show surface discoloration in harsh chloride environments—this is cosmetic and does not compromise safety.

For suppliers, offering both 304 and 316 grades with clear comparisons helps engineers make informed choices quickly.
