On a team loaded with all-time great Carmelo Anthony Jersey players, the Canadiens counted on the contributions of left winger Dickie Moore. He never failed them. Canadiens Montral (@CanadiensMTL) Moore had been ill for several months, according to Rejean Houle, president of the Canadiens' alumni a sociation. Moore played on a line often with brothers Maurice and Henri Richard on aHabs teams that won five consecutive Cups. He was a gritty scoring and playmaking winger. "We lost an idol from the 1950s," Houle said. "He won five Stanley Cups in a row. He was a great warrior." Moore's career numbers were 261 goals and 347 a sists in 719 regular season games. He had 46 goals and 64 a sists in 135 career playoff games. He played with Stanley Cup winners between 1956 and 1960, after winning his first in 1953. He won the Art Ro s Trophy twice, leading the NHL in scoring in 1958 and 1959. Moore was enshrined in the Hall of Fame in 1974. Moore played 12 seasons for the Habs, and after retiring he returned to play part of one season each with the Maple Leafs and Blues. He was particularly effective with the Blues, leading them in scoring during his short late-season stint and helping them reach the Stanley Cup finals. He had seven goals and seven a sists in the playoffs after 27 regular-season games despite playing on bad knees.
